![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The real stars of this book, though, are the Spears of Wedderburn-the Humes! □ David was despicable, but the rest… *sigh* □ The brotherly dynamics, the banter, their kindness toward toward Blythe and Elodie and their eagerness to be good hosts to their female guests-it was just the best! □ Like most everyone else in the story, Orin was my favorite! Such a sweet and smart little lad! I wanted to give him a big hug! And then the laird, Everard □□□ *sighs again* I always love Laura’s heroes, but he’s definitely a favorite (tied with Henry from A Heart Adrift). I loved Blythe and related to her a lot since she wears glasses (or spectacles) like me and loves books, writing, and studious pursuits. This book was no different, sweeping me away to the romantic backdrop of the Borders of Scotland and Wedderburn Castle! I always feel like I’ve stepped into the pages of her books and lived among the characters, and I’m always sad to have to leave in the end. This book was verra good, indeed! □ Laura’s writing is so ✨beautiful✨, painting an evocative, immersive picture of her story world. ![]()
